    The Nature of God

◎ Q. Who is the God of all creation?

    A. The God of all creation is the Holy Trinity.

☞ “All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:3)

☞ “For from him and through him and to him are all things.” (Romans 11:36)

☞ “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible” (Colossians 1:16)

◎ Q. What does it mean to say that God is the Trinity?

    A. It means that God is “three person, of one substance, power, and eternity – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

☞ “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

◎ Q. Why is it important to know God as the Trinity?

    A. Because God has acted through all three persons of the Trinity for our salvation.

☞ “For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)

☞ “For by grace you have been saved through faith.” (Ephesians 2:8)

◎ Q. How do the three persons of the Holy Trinity differ from one another?

    A. a. God the Father is neither begotten nor proceeding from any other person.

    b. God the Son from all eternity is begotten from the Father.

    c. God the Holy Spirit from all eternity proceeds from the Father.

☞ “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.” (John 15:26)

☞ “And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba! Father!” (Galatians 4:6)
