    God the Son(2)

    Q. What is the great importance of Jesus’ suffering and death?

    A. By Jesus’ death, he made perfect redemption, justification, and sanctification for all the sins of the whole world, both original and actual.

☞ “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”(Isaiah 53:5)

☞ “who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”(Romans 4:25)

☞ “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.”(1 Corinthians 1:30)

☞ “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”(Ephesians 1:7)

    Q. What is the significant of Jesus’ bodily resurrection?

    A. In the Resurrection Jesus overcame death, and his rising made our own resurrection possible.

☞ “We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.”(Romans 6:9)

☞ “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”(1 Corinthians 15:20)

☞ “and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”(2 Corinthians 5:15)

    Q. What does it mean to say that Jesus ascended into heaven?

    A. We mean that Jesus took our human nature into heaven, where he now reigns with the Father and intercedes for us.

☞ “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”(1 Timothy 2:5)

☞ “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”(1 John 2:1)
